Five fabulous and diverse gardens will be open from 10am – 4pm on both days and are offering everything from 100 year old trees to Japanese influences, cottage gardens filled with a riot of colour, rare plants and gorgeous water features, huge perennial borders, loads of garden ideas and magnificent escarpment and mountain views.

Highfield Gardens is the new garden created by David Kennedy of ‘Clover Hill’ garden in Katoomba with stunning escarpment views.
‘Highfields’ has captured the attention of the horticultural world being included in the book by Claire Takacs ‘Australian Dreamscapes’ and featuring on the front cover. A large 6 acre garden with Rock Walls, Water features and many garden areas with colour themed garden borders, A Birch Grove, Rock Garden and much more.

Hillandale Gardens is a beautiful one hundred year old garden nestled in a valley surrounded by Eucalyptus fastigata forest of ancient proportions. Towering Rhododendrons, tree fern lined spring creek, magnificent Oak trees and a one hundred and twenty metre long perennial border are just some of its many features. Hillandale is a very natural, unstructured and meandering style garden. The Rhododendrons are a feature of the garden in spring . Many over 10 metres high and just as wide. The oldest being at least 100 yrs old. The perennial border is just coming back to life after its long winter sleep, filled with old fashioned favourites such as Lupins, Aquilegias, Euphorbias and Delphiniums.

Hartvale is situated on five gently undulating acres at the base of Mt York with stunning escarpment, mountain and valley views. Predominantly a cottage garden filled with Lavender, Penstemon, Poppies, Salvias and Dahlias, the grounds also feature a Potager garden, kitchen garden area, cute potting shed and an open art studio. Wild Meadows Garden

Wild Meadows is A contemporary and naturalistic garden set in the hills of Little Hartley. Flowery meadows, perennial borders & woodlands are filled with some unusual plants. A garden with four seasons and the changes are dramatic. With spring’s comes the blossom trees and drifts of daffodils. Summers is a riots of color with Roses, Lilies and perennials. Autumn is more somber with the turning of leaves in the trees and perennials meadows. Winter’s is filled with russet colors and displays of unusual seed heads.

Gory’u Japanese Gardens is a showcase of Japanese Maples and Conifers. There are some 28 types of Japanese Lanterns, 12 Basins, 13 ornamental bridges, a waterfall, 4 Suikinkutsu (water harp), Shishi-Odoshi (dear/kangaroo scarer), moon viewing platforms, lake, stream and exceptional panoramic views towards Sugar Loaf Mountain, Mt York and Hassans Walls.
